Our Glendale Animal Hospital West Phoenix Animal HospitalDr. Alan J. Finlayson and our team have been providing veterinarian care in the greater Phoenix metro (and rural) area since 1976. Our veterinary clinics – Finlayson Animal Hospital in Glendale and Alpine Animal Clinic in West Phoenix – are dedicated to meeting the needs of our patients with gentle compassion and the finest in veterinary care. Dr. Alan J. Finlayson founded the Finlayson Animal Hospital in Glendale in 1982. Our satellite veterinarian clinic, Alpine Animal Clinic in West Phoenix, was added in 1989.

Dr. Alan J. Finlayson, a native of Montana, grew up on a cattle ranch surrounded by creatures big and small, training horses and competing in rodeo events. It is no surprise that, in 1972, he graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University. Immediately following, Dr. Finlayson completed a one-year veterinary internship with Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He currently lives with his wife, Gayla, and enjoys bragging about his four children and nine grandchildren. When he is not helping animals live healthier lives, Dr. Finlayson also enjoys coaching youth sports (especially baseball), building and flying model airplanes, and the occasional hunting trip.

Both Finlayson Animal Hospital and Alpine Animal Clinic offer a variety of veterinary services, for animals of all types and sizes. Our list of previously treated pets includes dogs, cats, horses, sheep, cattle, small animals, and more. We encourage pet owners to contact us with any questions about the types of animals we treat and the services that we provide. We also offer ear crop services on such specialty dog breeds as Dobermans, Pit Bulls, Great Danes, Boxers, Schnauzers, Miniature Pinschers, and others.

At both clinics, we offer professional vet care which includes routine health exams, emergency situations, and surgical procedures. In addition, we provide vaccinations, health certificates, x-rays, cancer care treatments, and more. Our veterinarian, Dr. Finlayson, works to stay current on advances in veterinary medicine so that he can provide experienced and modern care for pets in the local communities.

We feel that finding a trustworthy vet clinic isn't always easy, and we strive to make sure each pet owner knows that their animal is in the best possible care . We also know and take pride in that through compassionate service, we can enrich the lives of our clients and their animals.
